The anorexic art movement

Brandon Adamson has been identified as an archetype in what has become known as the "anorexic art" movement. Not to be confused with minimalism, anorexic art represents a growing trend away from the object and toward the concept. As a result of the internet, thought processes, meaning, and concepts have in some instances become new forms of art that don't necessarily rely on physical location. In anorexic art, the intelligence, motive, and philosophy in the meaning, is the focus rather the technical or visual aspect. The philosophy in the meaning of the song, more important than the production values or even the melody. Creators and appreciators of this movement can be recognized by their indifference or even antagonism toward drawings, music and writing which was well done from the technical side, but with little intellect backing it or plain unintersting themes which lack sophistication. Anorexic art often comes from a very advanced mind and with profound ideas about humanity, while showing less, little, or even seemingly no concern for the visual/technical side(the front). The end result is a "those who get it those who don't" situation which further divides people among lines which have been drawn for quite some time. The "you call that art? my five year old kid could have made that" philistinish crowd vs. the "well, he may be skilled at drawing, but that just isn't interesting at all." Regardless of whether or not your view or anorexic art is positive or negative, it is a movement that exists and deserves to be recognized for what it is.
